The South Downs are popular for ramblers with a network of over 2,000 miles of well-managed, well-signed and easily accessible trails.
The Downs Hotel was built in 1927 as a public house. It is located only 2.5 miles from the heart of Brighton, surrounded by beautiful South Downs countryside. In the 1920’s it would have been a good starting or stop off point for ramblers exploring the South Downs in the Brighton area.
